Why Equestria Training?

We believe every horse is trainable. Our philosophy is built on trust, patience, and scientifically-sound methods.

Welfare-First Philosophy

All training is built on mutual respect and positive reinforcement. We never use fear, pain, or coercion — only patience and clarity.

Science-Based Methods

Our programs are grounded in equine behaviour science, ethology, and proven biomechanics — not tradition for tradition's sake.

Weekly Progress Reports

You'll receive detailed written and video progress reports every week so you can track your horse's development from anywhere in the world.

In-House Vet & Physio

Our resident equine vet and physiotherapist ensure every horse in training is physically sound, pain-free, and performing optimally.

Video Analysis Technology

We use high-speed cameras and gait analysis software to identify subtle asymmetries and movement faults invisible to the naked eye.

Owner Involvement

We actively involve you in your horse's training journey — including owner education sessions so the partnership continues when your horse comes home.

"The horse, with beauty unsurpassed, strength immeasurable, and grace unlike any other, still remains humble enough to carry a man upon his back."
— Amber Senti

The Training Journey

Every horse enters a structured, phased training program tailored to their individual needs, history, and goals.

Phase 1 — Week 1
Initial Assessment & Evaluation

We conduct a full physical and behavioural assessment — conformation, movement analysis, veterinary health check, and a thorough history review. A personalised training plan is then created and shared with the owner.

Phase 2 — Weeks 2–3
Trust Building & Groundwork

All training begins on the ground. We establish clear communication, boundaries, and respect through lunging, long-reining, and liberty work before any ridden work begins.

Phase 3 — Core Training
Discipline-Specific Development

The main training phase, tailored entirely to your chosen discipline and goals. Progress is measured weekly against predefined benchmarks and shared with you via video report.

Phase 4 — Final Weeks
Competition Prep & Owner Handover

Your horse is prepared for competition or return home. We hold owner education sessions, provide a full written training manual, and offer continued aftercare support for 3 months.

By the Numbers

Two decades of results that speak for themselves.

Horse Breaking

The Foundation of Everything

The most critical phase in any horse's life — first handled correctly means a lifetime of partnership. We use natural horsemanship principles to build trust before control, creating willing and confident horses from day one.

  • Handling and halter training
  • Desensitisation to all stimuli
  • Lunging and long-reining
  • First backing and walk/trot/canter
  • Hacking out and traffic exposure

Behaviour Conditioning

Understanding the Root Cause

Problem behaviours are almost always a symptom, not the cause. Our equine behaviourist takes a root-cause approach — investigating pain, fear, confusion, and past trauma before designing a compassionate rehabilitation program.

  • Full veterinary pain assessment
  • Behavioural history review
  • Positive reinforcement protocols
  • Rearing, bolting, and bucking rehab
  • Box rest and anxiety management

What Owners Say

"

I sent my 5-year-old Thoroughbred in for breaking, and what came back 12 weeks later was an entirely different horse. Patient, willing, and totally confident. The weekly video updates were fantastic.

"

Dr. Nair identified that Luna's rearing was due to ulcers, not disobedience — something three previous trainers had missed. After treatment and rehab, she's now competing at Prelim dressage. Unbelievable turnaround.

"

James is simply extraordinary. Storm came in able to jump 90cm and left confidently clearing 1.30m. The improvement in his scope and rideability is something I didn't believe was achievable so quickly.

Frequently Asked

Have more questions? Get in touch — we're happy to discuss your horse's individual needs.

Can I visit my horse during training?
Absolutely. Owners are welcome to visit by appointment any time during the week. We ask for 24 hours notice so we can ensure a trainer is available to update you in person and ideally let you watch a training session. Owner visits are an important part of the handover process.
What age of horse can you take into training?
We work with horses from 2 years old (for initial handling and in-hand work only) through to veterans in their late teens for remedial or behaviour work. Starting under saddle programmes begin at 3 years old for most breeds, or 4 years for heavier warmbloods and draught crosses.
What happens if my horse gets injured during training?
Your horse's welfare is our absolute priority. We have a resident equine vet on-site who will assess and treat any injuries immediately. We will notify you by phone within the hour of any incident. Horses are covered by their own insurance — we strongly recommend adequate coverage before sending a horse into training.
How do I know if my horse is suitable for your programs?
Almost any horse can benefit from professional training. We begin with a free 30-minute consultation call to discuss your horse's history, goals, and any concerns. For horses with complex behavioural or physical histories, we may request vet records before confirming a training place.
Do you offer a trial period before committing to a full program?
Yes — we offer a 2-week trial assessment for all new horses. During this time we conduct our full evaluation and begin the groundwork phase. At the end of two weeks, we'll present you with a detailed training report and plan before you commit to the full program.
Is transport to and from the yard available?
Yes, we offer a horse transport service within a 150-mile radius of the yard. Please enquire for pricing based on your location. We can also recommend trusted transport companies for longer distances or overseas clients.
